NEW PATTERN COUNSELING - PORTLAND, OREGON
Everyone is doing their best… and everyone could be doing a lot better. This phrase is not only the core of my approach to counseling, it also is my approach to life. This phrase means I can have grace for myself when I do not live up to my own standards and recognize that I can make a new choice today to be better. Choosing to come to counseling is the first step towards the better life you are hoping for. Together we can develop a plan to address trauma, addiction, grief, depression, or anxiety. The journey will be long, and there will be more mistakes along the way. However, here we will make a place free of shame because we recognize there is always opportunity for growth in the future.
I finished my master’s with The Chicago School in 2025. Much of this training was focused on multicultural competency training. It is my goal to provide care that recognizes the needs and understanding of you as an individual and you in the context of the cultures that built you. Now I continue my education as a CSAT candidate to improve my understanding of sexual addiction and the betrayal trauma experienced by partners of sex addicts.
I am white American and was adopted into a family in Spokane from birth. I moved to Oregon with my fiance, John, in 2022. I am so happy to call this place home as we put down roots together. When I am not practicing, I like to spend my time sewing, gaming, and going hiking and camping with my dog Thor. I sew because the defiant act of creation is liberating and I love being able to create new looks for events and everyday wear that make me comfortable as I am. I game because it helps me reset when I am stressed, it also allows me to connect with friends near and far. And I camp because there is something special about sitting by a campfire with cocoa as the sun rises that fills me with nostalgia and joy.
